FRIENDS... WITH BENEFITS

There are so many things friendships can give to people. Besties, BFFs, bros or however you call them, the essence will always be there: friends.
Research shows that being with your true friends lets you laugh genuinely. No matter how irritating, your incessant chortles after a senselessly delivered quip by a friend is good for the heart and mind. It also helps alleviate stress!

We lay down some of the most common benefits of having your “friends-for-life”:

1 .Your Home Away From Home

The relationships we have at home are the primary relationships we built. As we go out of our homes, we meet people who we eventually consider as our family. We find solace in their company that we become too expressive and comfortable with them than our own families. And as we say our home away from home, we get to slouch as comfortable as we can be in our friends’ sofa because mom is just too strict at home!

2. Broadening Social Boundaries

Introversion has its pros and cons, but those who have true friends would generally negate this syndrome. Having friends will unlock doors for socially inept people to realize their shortcomings and ultimately opening themselves to the company of others. Having different set of friends is good, at any case, for it also improves your self-worth.

3. Stress-free Life

Friends will sit quietly on a corner and talk about their heartbreaks and downfalls, but most of the time, the essence of friendship is sharing laughter and good times with someone else. Being happy with friends will help you set aside your personal complications for a time of happiness. Hanging out in the mall, having sleepovers, singing and dancing together or even simply gawking at your own crushes, fun time with friends is a great stress-buster.

4. Your Angel on One Side, Devil on the Other

We may see it as make-believe on TV, but those angels and demons on both ears are real entities: our friends. It is inevitable that you experience conflicting thoughts and judgments on the things you do, and you are bound to take heed of only once for your own perpetual good. The devil part may seem nefarious, but it is, indeed, a good thing. Having friends with conflicting opinions on your own business helps you weigh and decide matters that you think will be good for you.

5. Your Official Catchers

As friends will catch you when you faint after seeing your crush, they can also be there to catch your “extra baggage.” Individually, you will encounter trials and tribulations. Their company shall help you cope with trauma, serious illness, unimaginable loss or even the death of a beloved as no one can live carrying all these burdens by himself, true friends shall involuntary ask for something to carry.

6. Friends Make Life Special

Life is just unimaginable without friends. They make the real difference that makes life worth living. People who you have the same goals with, likes, dreams and probably age are those who are special. You grow and create memories together. And when that somber time of having to part comes, you will come to a point where you will realize how wonderful life is because you had friends who you shared it with.
